Description: Join us for the next presentation in our series called Our Great Heritage: Worker Training Schools, where we will highlight the history of our schools. President Schroeder will outline the history of Luther Preparatory School, reviewing the synod’s decision to combine Northwestern Prep and Martin Luther Prep on the Watertown campus in 1995, the planning and logistics that went into the formation of Luther Prep, the challenges of such an undertaking, and the blessings that God has brought about as a result. Immediately following this presentation, the WELS Historical Institute will hold its annual meeting.
The presenter is President Mark Schroeder. President Schroeder graduated from Northwestern College in 1977 and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1981. He served congregations in Fond du Lac, Wis., and Maitland, Fla. In 1989 he accepted the call to serve as president of Northwestern Preparatory School in Watertown. In 1995, he was called as president of the newly formed Luther Preparatory School on the Watertown campus, and in July 2007 he was elected president of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
